Our Modpack includes the GCam camera utility, accessible through Potato Spectator when you die. This gives you camera options you don't have in the normal spectator mode.
Jester made a video on how to use GCam in-game. Click here to watch it.
The following is a written highlight of the basics:
- Access GCam through the "Open GCam" button in spectator
- Open & Close the GCam interface with "L"
- The three different modes are:
- Follow: Holds the camera in position relative to the selected unit while ignoring its rotation
- Behind: Holds the camera in position relative to the selected unit while copying its orientation
- Focus: Haven't quite figured this out yet
- For following infantry, start with only "Follow" mode enabled. As infantry tend to rotate a lot, "Behind" can be very frenetic and hard-to-follow.
- For vehicles, start with "Follow" and "Behind" modes. This gives you a much smoother camera.
- To exit Gcam, open the GCam interface with "L" (if necessary) and click "Close GCam." This returns you to Potato Spectator, and you can navigate back to the action as needed.
