The M47 Super Dragon is a pretty unique Launcher... It is the predecessor to the Javelin program, and was meant to serve a similar role. The two are fairly similar in certain aspects. For example, Both are single shot man portable launchers with detachable optics. Thats pretty much where the similarity ends.

Now back to the uniqueness. You may be asking what is unique. Well the answer to that is the way the missile adjust its course. These missiles do not have a rocket motor that runs the entire time the missile is traveling. Instead, the initial rocket motor only serves to propel the ordinance from the tube, and then stops burning. The main propulsion system comes in the form of three rows of smaller thruster rockets that are located around the entire outside of the missile. Once the Missile has traveled around 50m from the launcher, These thrusters start firing in pairs either any time the gunner moves the crosshair far enough that the system sees the need to adjust course, or about every quarter to half a second (.25 - .50) just to keep the missile in the air. To put it in more simple terms. This thing might as well be straight out of Kerbal Space program. And yes. This is how it works in the real world.

As you might think, this leads to some interesting quarks related to target tracking. Essentially if you move your crosshair too fast, you stand a good chance of the missile over correcting. And or the system thinking the missile is lost and terminating the flight into the ground. Generally speaking this also means you are more prone to inaccuracy at longer ranges, as it is harder to make small adjustments smoothly.

Max range of 1500m, as the guidance wire will snap at this point. The missile may or may not stay on course for another 100m or so depending on your luck... But your bread and butter is going to be the 200m - 1000m range.

This launcher is added by both ACE and CUP. This guide specifically covers the ACE CSW (crew served weapon) Variant, as the CUP version is not modeled to be... Unique... like the real world variant.

In our modpack the ACE version of the M47 is a single shot disposable launcher. You are issued a sight (SU-36/p Daysight) in your binocular slot. The launcher will be placed on the ground through ACE interaction. This sets the launcher on the ground as a turret on its bipod. You then ACE interact with the launcher to put the optic on. The system is now ready to fire, mount up and engage. Once your engagement is over, simply ACE interact to reclaim your optic and then go find another tube to use!
