Ranks have little to no bearing on what happens outside of the session. Beyond administrative roles, ranks do not indicate any sort of authority. While we would implore newer members to heed the advice of those who have been here for some time, it’s not a rule. A higher rank signifies a greater contribution to this group. We don’t distinguish whether that’s a direct contribution, or simply through time spent in the group, but it’s safe to assume anyone with the veteran tags has done both.

Officers are group owners, followed by NCOs, followed by everyone else (and specialists). Specialists are like normal members with added responsibilities and a little more knowledge about the inner workings of the group. Only officers and NCOs have any significant authority over anyone else in this group.

Ranks can change based on your dedication to the group. If you find yourself showing up less and contributing less, you may be demoted so more active members can be recognized for their contributions.
